Kitchen Drainage Overflow and Grease Trap Maintenance

Scope of Works
EVAC received an urgent call out for overflowing drains in the kitchen, accompanied by a noticeable smell. The issue appeared to be caused by a blockage affecting the use of the sink and dishwasher. An investigation was initiated to determine the cause and carry out necessary works to resolve this plumbing issue.
How we delivered
- Identified the grease trap was overflowing in the yard
- Found the Delta 1 grease trap service was overdue, and this may have contributed to the blockage
- Cleared the blocked drain and cleaned overflow area
- Removed blocked filter from grease arrestor
- Returned to site for final clean-up
- Engaged EPA-approved transporter to pump out the grease trap
- Removed approx. 500L of liquid waste
- Serviced internal filter
- Reported waste removal to SA Water for trade waste compliance
Outcome
- Blocked kitchen drain was cleared and overflow stopped
- Grease trap was fully pumped out (approx. 500L removed)
- Site was cleaned and returned to normal condition
- Waste removal handled by EPA-approved transporter
- Issue reported to SA Water for compliance
- Root cause identified as overdue grease trap service
