Scope of Works
EVAC received reports for multiple plumbing issues affecting the operation of the kitchen, including:
- Blocked kitchen drain causing sink backup
- Floor drain overflow
- Unable to use kitchen causing business disruption
How we delivered
Deliverables:
- Diagnose and resolve kitchen sink backup, floor drain, and multiple fixtures across the facility
- Investigate cause of pump station failure and grease trap overflow
- Perform emergency liquid waste removal (2000L) from the grease trap and pump well
- Coordinate attendance of plumber, pump technician, and electrician
- Identify and correct electrical miswiring in pump floats
- Replace 2x failed single-phase sewage pumps
- Complete recommissioning and testing of pump system after installation
Outcome
Outcomes:
- The root cause was identified as miswired float connections in the pump station, causing continuous overload and failure of both sewage pumps
- The grease trap and pump well were pumped out to prevent further backflow and sanitation risk
- Plumbing and electrical teams successfully replaced 2x single-phase sewage pumps and recommissioning of the system
- Kitchen drainage, staff toilet, and fixtures were fully restored and tested
- Client was kept informed at each stage, including diagnostics, emergency works, and resolution
- System is now operational and compliant, with improved reliability and reduced risk of overflow incidents
